Default Casting Style Choices

So I was randomly doing some HM NF Missions on my ele a little while back, and I came across Pogahn Passage where you dress up like a Kournan for a good part of the mission

Now it's my understanding that your casting style while under the effects of the disguise changes to that of a ranger...and I happened to notice something: I REALLY like the Ranger style of spellcasting more than the traditional ele style

So that got me thinking...we have people like Senji and whatnot for secondary profession changes, so why not create an NPC where maybe we can pay like 500g and change our casting styles?

I think this would add lot more customization to both the game and all of our individual characters...I'd really like to see something like this come into effect

I like what you're saying, seeing the same animations for casting over and over again is kind of boring; might I also add that the male elementalist casting mode looks pretty damn stupid.
/signed for this but it is unlikely it'll be done.

I do like the idea, but I don't feel it would be feasible.

Is the male derv the one that looks like he's throwing something when he casts? I want that one...

It would be cool to change emotes, too. Except /dance because a bulky war doing the necro headbang would be weird. But I want the war /bowhead and the ele /sit. Maybe some different drums, too.

...I would so change my male Elementalist's dance given an opportunity... that doesn't cost real money, that is. I don't care about it that much.

Not sure which one I'd change it too, but I'd change it. Possibly Ranger.

I sort of like this idea. I never really liked the way the male warrior casts... Example : Healing Signet.

/not signed.
Certain character models' skeleton are bind to a fixed animation. If you were to change a female monk's casting animation to a female warrior's, you will have to spend a long time to rebind it (which is not easy) and those time could be better spent on something more productive.

If it is too difficult to implement, I would love to see more customization options like this in GW2.

I would love it. Not just for casting, but for other combat as well. Ever notice, for example, how the dervish using a spear looks really nifty, or how the paragon holds a bow, or the incredibly stupid looking way assassins attack with staves?

Offhand, an easy way to do this would be the same method used in the mission: disguises.

Say you find a Jade Brotherhood Disguise. You use it, and you turn into a JB mesmer, now using the mesmer animations, the exact same way the mission disguise or the tonics work. Make them infinite use, and you can have whatever animations you want.

100% agreed...if it's "too hard" to "rebind" all the characters' animations, then maybe look into everlasting disguises

An example could be end-game items...nobody wants those crappy green weapons usually, so maybe make an option an everlasting "X" disguise where "X" is a specific type of guise unique to that campaign
I.E.- Everlasting Kournan (Insert Profession) Disguise for Nightfall end-game only

Granted...it would be very hard to tell who is who with everyone casting under the same disguise...I just really want to find some feasible way to make this work lol

Too bad GW1 Live Team is a team of one whopping person (who's probably afk scarfing down dunkin donuts to begin with..). Also, GW2 > GW1 because GW2 = Their next big Pay Check. Nuff sedd? Nice idear, though *koodles*

Animations change under a disguise because the disguise change the models.
Animations come with the skeleton, and the skeleton goes with the model.

Although I agree that would be nice to change base animations to those of another profession, and allow any character to perform any dance.

As long as the changes are kept for PvE explorables and outposts.
In PvP we need to quickly recognize models for how they move.
